St. Ann's Growing Together
Tues 25th Jan, Weds 2nd Feb, Weds 9th Feb 11am-3pm
Ecoworks Community Garden @ Brewsters Road . See a map.
Getting together. Growing together. Let's get stuck in...
- Grow your own with your neighbours and friends
- Make St. Anns a more beautiful place for everyone
- Meet new people, have fun with old friends
- Have a cuppa and some biscuits
There's been something brewing in St. Ann 's over the last few years. The great success of events like Holding Hands has breathed new life into our community, and Ecoworks want to take that success to the next level this year. Ecoworks is here for the people of St. Anns. Since we were lucky enough to be given the old upper school at Brewsters Road , it's been a place for people to grow their own, cook together and enjoy a green space in the middle of their neighbourhood. We had 120 of you to our launch day in the sunshine of last June, another 100 to our Pumpkin Festival in the autumn, and in 2011 we want to see ALL of you.
That's right, every last one of you! Because the Brewsters Road Community garden is here for you, your friends and your enjoyment. Think growing your own is just for people on TV with an allotment? Think that Jamie Oliver is the only one who can get fresh food from a gorgeous green garden? Well, now you can too, and with our help you can do it right here, with your friends and for free.
Beryl lives on the Brewsters estate and has been coming to the garden since last summer-
"Coming down to the Brewsters Road garden has changed my life! I never used to talk to anyone, never eat anything healthy. Now look at me- i'll talk to anyone, I've got loads of mates! And I love spending time in the garden, it's so good for my happiness and I love all the great food."
Next Tuesday will be the start of something big, something for everyone in St. Anns to be proud of. Come along at 11 to the garden, wear some scruffy clothes and be a part of it.
If you have any questions, just give us a call at the garden on 01159622200. Now come on, let's get growing together!
Kind Regards,
