Hi everyone and welcome to the NG3 Community Circle message board. This forum can be used to link with others who come to the community circle between meetings, swap and share wants needs and offers and connect with others. This is a bit of a trial to see how message boards work, how much management they take and how many people use it etc...

The building blocks of NG3----- What are we about??
Helping each other Trust Love Honesty Faith Relaxing with others Meeting new people Sharing skills and problems Everyone can be a part of this Finding out whats going on Finding out what the neighbourhood is about Nice to see people meeting who are out to help each other not just being out for themselves A place where people take the time to listen Everyone having hidden Gems that you wouldnt have known about if you hadnt met here Excitement A core sense of community and showing everyone that what is seen in the media about community dying out is not true and that it does exist.
Needs, Wants and Offers from November The help to organise meetings. Hope did the invites, and Callum was here to help on welcoming team tonight
Callum asked for help to get out with friends, But he hasnt been well in the last couple of weeks. Hope still available to email and see if she is free when Callum may want to do something. If interested see Ange afterward PCSO Watch!

Group Need - To let people know we are here. Email invite to Andy, also will speak to wife about email advertising. Facebook group--Samer to do this and email invites to everyone. Caroline thinks someone good at woodwork would be able to make a ramp and that would help the group. Jack volunteered to help, Matt to help.
If everyone invited just one person would expand the group. Would someone mention it at Wednesday Youth Club? Carol to ask if anyone will take this on. Less urgent Needs/Wants
Matt- Needs a place to go in Carlton or nearby to play Football and Basketball- one of the people Samer works witrh used to be a proffessional football player and runs clubs/leaugues for under 16's and Samer will get info as to these. Derek- Someone to do a community audit of little groups that happen in the area, even looking at shop windows, asking in churches ect. Someone to spend 3-4hrs a mth doing the research and making connections. Callum said it may be useful for himself. Louis and Sallom also offered to look around and gather information. Ange has doen stuff liek this in the past too, amnd worrys things may be out of date by the time we get the information.

Reflection- What has coming together meant to you
Nice to see a sense of community that you dont often get and to meet new people. Been good to get to expend social circle Been fab to meet James!!!! The format was familiar and have felt like slotted right in, used to be part of a network and this one feels like home. As Always great to be a part of and to know we have all contributed To have been part of a group and good to havseen some new faces. Came cos they were going to friends for dinner but really enjoyed it and foumd it useful and wants to come again Good community project Always appreciate it as a group where can sit and just be quiet. Suddenly clicked that the issue of a ramp can be asked for help on here. Loved just being with people who care about each other. It has been interesting First time and thankyou for inviting me and hav been very pleasently surprised and was lovely to meet everyone Found it interesting coming along for the second tme and hopefully offers wil lead onto other things Found it interesting and it is nice to know there are so many people who are happy to offer to do things for other people This is by a mile the most diverse group that Derek is ever in, in terms of age, abilty and where we came from to be here and it isnt just empty reteric about diversity as here it is actually True Everyone should be proud of themselves.

Hi everyone
I attended the January meeting of Cirlce NG3, as I'm looking to start a circle within Broxtowe district, probably in Beeston, in the near future. I am employed as the Community Access Worker for Broxtowe and my job involves identifying/developing inclusive activities for adults with learning disabilities within Broxtowe. Although there was quite a small turnout at this meeting, as is often the case with anything after Xmas, it was a very positive experience and the potential of such a simple idea was evident. Since I don't live far from Mapperley, I shall happily attend Circle NG3 in my own right from now on and look forward to seeing you on February 23rd.
