Dear Citizen Putting Health at the Heart of Nottingham Monday 8th February 2010, 9.30 – 12.30, Ballroom, Council House Full Council Debate – from 2pm Councillor Eunice Campbell, Nottingham City Council’s Portfolio holder for Adult Support and Health, would like to invite you to attend the ‘Putting Health at the Heart of Nottingham’ event which will take place on Monday 8th February 2010 in the Council House. The focus of the day will be: The high levels of smoking in Nottingham – 39% of people in Nottingham smoke, this is almost double the national average Healthy weight – it is estimated that 131,000 men and women in Nottingham are overweight or obese. This event will give you the opportunity to come and meet with other people from your area, including your local Councillors, to talk about what is important to you and tell us what local health actions you think would make a difference in your community. The aim of the morning session will be to develop local actions that will improve health and wellbeing across Nottingham. Lunch is provided and in the afternoon you will have the opportunity to watch a Full Council Debate where the ideas from the morning workshops will be discussed by Nottingham City Councillors.
