‘Much more fun – team work – fresh air – we’ll be back!’
We are continuing to work on both Parks to improve paths and sight lines so that people can enjoy the parks more.
Sycamore Park Join us on 8th April, 10.30-12.30 in the morning for some work cutting back overgrown bushes etc, under the guidance of Matt Hall and Steve Doughty, our Park Rangers.
Meeting place can be seen from the vehicle entrance off Hungerhill Road – tea and biscuits provided!
Coppice Park 10th April 11am – 1pm Saturday morning. Once again, City Services are bringing along their Chipper and we’ll finish off chipping on one of our favourite paths through the Woods below the Caunton Avenue entrance. Look forward to seeing you there.
You may have seen reports of the Dog Training on Coppice Park with a picture of a happy dog and owner at the end of the course. If you are interested in getting trained up – please get in touch about future courses with Mapperley Neighbourhood Management on 0115 9151390. Many enquiries already, so let us know soon!
A lot has been happening on Sycamore and Coppice Parks over the last few months. On Coppice Park, the new vehicle access road off Ransom Road has been completed! And children from Walter Halls Primary School have been working hard to produce posters to encourage responsible picking up of litter and dog poo. Some excellent artwork is being translated into Tough Signage by the Park Department – which will hopefully encourage good citizenship on the Parks!
New Play Equipment, Football Pitch and Multi-use Games Area are being installed this year on Sycamore Park, and more play equipment on Coppice Park.
Come along and get involved.
Best wishes.
Emma Dewinton
